On completion of residential treatment clients are expected to attend one year’s aftercare one night per week with the option of a second year. White Oaks aftercare groups are mainly facilitated by ex residents who have been clean/sober for at least two years and have successfully undertaken aftercare training.  The spouses and partners of clients are encouraged to attend where possible with them.

The weekly aftercare groups take place as follows:

• Groups A, B and C      –          White Oaks Centre Monday 7pm-8.30 pm
• Donegal Town             -           Hospital, Wednesday from 7pm – 8.30 pm
• Sligo Town                   -           Nazareth House, Tuesday 7.30pm – 9pm

Clients are also offered 3 individual counseling sessions with their counselor.

Relapse

Clients who relapse are encouraged to contact their individual consellor as soon as possible for a one to one session.  They can then avail of the relapse groups at White Oaks and Donegal for a period of approximately six weeks before rejoining their aftercare group.

Support Groups

In addition to their aftercare, clients are strongly encouraged to continue attending their relevant 12 Step Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous support groups.
