Family Days

White Oaks recognises addiction as a family illness. Family members play an important role in helping people in treatment. They come to the initial screening interview, visit on Sundays and most importantly they agree to attend on Wednesdays -Family Therapy Days.

Their input is regarded as a vital component in the therapeutic process for the resident and for themselves. Opportunities are given in, the group context, for the family member to explore issues which have emerged for them as a consequence of the family member’s addiction.  They are also invited to come to the weekly Aftercare meetings.  One Wednesday afternoon each month family members may avail of a Healing of Memories reflection which is led by Fr Neal Carlin, Director of White Oaks.
